Civic minded IoT with CCI

Kickstarting civic IoT...

The Center for Civic Innovation (CCI) is a leading organization in the field of internet of things (IoT) development and deployment. CCI has been at the forefront of the growth and adoption of Low Range Wide Area Network (LoRaWAN) networks, since its purchase of The Things Network initial Kickstarter campaign in 2014. As a civic leader, CCI has worked with governments, businesses, and community organizations to develop and implement innovative solutions using IoT and LoRaWAN technology.

CCI and FOAM.space

FOAM's innovative proof-of-location LoRa system is being prototyped in
Charlottesville with the support of the Center for Civic Innovation
and the Aragon dTech team.

What can we do with proof-of-location?
* What if you could guarantee that someone voting on an issue was
physically located in an area?
* What types of opportunities and risks might be associated with this process?

Aragon dTech - sponsored largely by Aragon.org - is working to bring a
proof-of-location service to the Aragon and Vocdoni voting andgovernance solutions. Last year Aragon sent $100,000 in humanitarian aid funding directly to colleagues in Ukraine thanks in part to blockchain technologies.  We would like to continue to act locally while thinking globally and will specifically look to support ideas and innovations that might benefit areas currently in duress.
